Tricks and Bricks!

I enjoy finding beauty D-I-Y tricks and hacks. Some I have tried, others I'll leave to you to try first. Hehe! Reminds me of a programme I did on radio_ 'Did You Know?'

Let's start with:

Banana Peels...

Did you know you could actually use the back of a banana peel to whiten your teeth?
You simply rub the inside of a peel on your top and bottom teeth for about a minute each and let it sit for ten minutes, then brush your teeth with a dry tooth-brush. Do it a few times a week; it is said to work as well as any whitening-kit.

Have I  tried this? Yes.
Did it work? Well, you try it and see! :)

Shaving Cream

Now you know how you hug some-one and your make-up transfers on their clothes [*cover face*]; not nice at all. It has happened to me severally. On one occasion, I was so embarrassed :)...
Remind me not to hug you when I've got my face-beat.  Hehe!

Or ever been in a situation when you try taking-off or wearing your clothes and your foundation gets the better part of that cloth?

Well, shaving-cream can do the magic. You can get rid of that stain; just rub the area with a little bit of shaving-cream and a damp-cloth, then rinse... voila!

Safety pins:

Actually read some place that you can use safety-pins to separate your lashes after applying mascara...It separates clumps and makes your lashes look longer

Who does that?! 8)

Me!

Caveat! You're on your own o! Just be certain to do it with a very steady hand. ;)

Matches

You can use the rough strip on a match-book as a nail file. :)

Baby powder

Did you know you can make your lashes longer and fuller with baby powder?

If you did not know, now you do! :)

Apply one coat of mascara, then use a Q-tip or a cotton swab to dust-on some baby powder on your lashes, add another coat of mascara and you will get longer and fuller lashes. This one really, and truly, works!

 Coconut oil

I have heard about the many wonders of coconut oil; 'everyone' seems to use it for one beauty purpose or another.

As much as it can do a lot of things, you should know it can whiten your teeth as well and make them shiny when swished around in your mouth? Well, you can always try it out! :)

Toothpaste

This is another wonder product. If you have yellow nails, did you know that rubbing a bit of tooth-paste on it can reduce the yellow appearance? For extra effect, you can add a few drops of lemon.

Honey

I do not want to sound cliched, but honey really does wonders on the skin. It unclogs your pores and clarifies the skin.

Put a thin layer of honey on your skin. Sit back, relax and watch an episode of the series Empire or Game of Thrones. :)

Afterwards, wash it off: you would be amazed when you see the difference!

Vaseline

I learnt this trick from Jennie Jenkins (Beautybyjj).

Dabbing a touch of Vaseline where-ever you spray perfume makes your scent last longer. Why? Because the oils found in petroleum jelly 'holds-on' to fragrances and prevents evaporation. Cool right? Try it out!

Toothpicks

You can use them to create designs on your nails when applying a nail polish.

Ok, these are the tricks for this week.

Do let me know if you've tried them, or if you can not wait to try them. ;)

Thanks for stopping by!

xoxo
